J Scott Bergman

J Scott Bergman a.k.a “L Nuclear” was born in New Jersey and raised in Southern California. His music is inspired by personal events, lyrically observational and resonates with both classic folk rock influence and nontraditional song structures. Influenced by artists as diverse as Leonard Cohen, Radiohead, Bruce Springsteen to David Bowie, J Scott Bergman continues to evolve with evocative songs of passion and spirit.

J Scott has been backed up by leading industry musicians such as Zac Rae (Death Cab For Cutie) and Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Beck) who have added their touches to Bergman’s recorded output over the years. He has been favorably reviewed for both his live performances and commercially released records and is a big supporter of a grass roots approach to music making and promotion. For instance, his album Honey Drive and the previous Beautifulordinary were both selected as ‘Music We Like’ by record store staff at Amoeba Music and displayed as recommended independent releases. Various songwriting competitions, notably the Great American Song contest he has won awards and also placed high up the ranks in the 2015 IMA awards competition. An original song called Wonderful Thing spent a month in the top 20 most played singles on previous XM radio station 52 and a cover of the Eagles ‘One of These Nights’ remained in rotation on XM Sirius radio station ‘The Coffeehouse’ for close to three years. Bergman has toured in Europe and currently lives in Los Angeles California.
