Pacific Records Presents: Howie Day w/Alfa!

Multi-platinum recording artist Howie Day will be appearing in an intimate “unplugged” performance at the Stella Artois Lounge, Valley View Casino Center (VVCC) on Sunday, July 10.

Day’s repertoire includes such pop/rock hits as “Collide” and “She Says.” Opening acts include Pacific Records recording artist Alfa and Kathryn Dean. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., with music commencing at 7:15 p.m.

The Stella Artois Lounge is an upscale 330-seat venue within the lower level of VVCC, formerly used mainly for VIP events in association with headline shows. Last year, VVCC’s general manager Ernie Hahn and Pacific Records CEO Brian Witkin formed a strategic partnership to bring live music to the Lounge; a new state-of-the art sound system was installed, and the room upgraded.

Since then, over 50 shows have been successfully completed, featuring showcase performances by Pacific Records recording artists and other San Diego musicians. These shows have been presented before, or during intermissions for, national touring act shows in the main VVCC arena, and also in association with the San Diego Gulls inaugural season hockey games.

Hahn and Witkin have recently expanded operation of the Stella Artois Lounge to a stand-alone venue, open to the public on nights when the main Casino Center arena is dark. San Diegans can enjoy live music in a comfortable, intimate atmosphere.

“Pacific Records and the Valley View Casino Center have created something very special before and after major events at the Stella Lounge with live music in a very special room.  Brian and all of his artists have started something unique showcasing San Diego’s best music and we are excited to have Howie Day be part of the same magic,” said Hahn.

“This is a win-win situation. San Diego now has a connected music industry venue, where local rising talent can meet, greet and be seen by chart topping performing artists and national booking and management firms. At the same time, local fans get a new venue, and touring artists and their support will experience a pleasant and unique addition to the usual backstage environment,” said Witkin.

Tickets for Howie Day are on sale at www.valleyviewcasinocenter.com from AXS Ticketing Services. Local artists interested in showcasing at the Stella Artois Lounge should follow the instructions on the Pacific Records website.
