Vice President, Senior Director of A&R
Gary Hyde is Vice President and Senior Director of A&R at Pacific Records. Gary oversees artist development and assists the President in overseeing creative operations, production, A&R, and talent farming. Gary also spearheads the publishing and songwriting divisions of Pacific Records, that has established itself as an industry leader in film and television placement with an emphasis on corporate branding and advertising partnerships. Gary has an extensive musical background spanning over several decades. He started as a performer in Nashville playing piano at the world famous Carousel Club in Printers alley. Gary performed there with notable artists such as Glen Campbell, Larry Gatlin, Helen Reddy, Doug Kershaw, and Kris Kristofferson. Gary was also in a band at the club with one of the great drummers of all time Larrie Londin (on several Motown hits, and toured with Elvis) and wrote and sang several commercials, did recording projects with Buddy Killen (Tree Publishing) Fred Carter ( The Band, Simon and Garfunkel), Paul Worley and engineer producer Ernie Winfrey ( Paul McCartney, Lee Greenwood, Dolly Parton). In 1997 Gary received an award for best song and music video from The American Film Institute for the song “Really having a good time”, filmed by John Merrit. The judges for this award were – Francis Ford Coppola, Tim Allen, Kathleen Kennedy, Aisha Tyler and Bret Michaels. In 1999 Gary wrote, played all instruments, sang “Fairground Judy Brown” which went to No. 1 in Sweden on MP3.com. Some of Gary’s recent successful campaigns include commercials for the Valley View Casino (radio and TV), Anthem for the San Diego Gulls, The Farmers Open and The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.
