SAN DIEGO, Calif. (August 28, 2026) — After more than two decades away from the recording studio, Chin Ho! has officially returned. Today, Pacific Records proudly announces the release of The Mystery of the Curse of the Chin Ho! Mystery Curse, the band’s first full-length album in 25 years.
Originally formed in 1989 by Andrew X. Smith and David Morency, Chin Ho! became a fixture of Vermont’s independent music scene throughout the 1990s, earning a devoted following with its distinctive blend of alternative rock, indie, and pop influences. The band’s reunion rekindled old friendships and creative momentum, ultimately leading to the recording of an album that bridges its celebrated past with a fresh new chapter.
Produced by former band member Jason Dunn, The Mystery of the Curse of the Chin Ho! Mystery Curse features fourteen new tracks that capture the band’s signature sound while showcasing the evolution of its songwriting over the past quarter century. The release follows the singles “Tractor, Pull,” “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah,” and “Too Much Of Too Much Is Too Much,” which introduced fans to Chin Ho!’s long-awaited return.
