Guitarist Deven Berryhill of Pacific Records recording artists, The Tourmaliners, will be performing at the three-day Surf Guitar 101 Festival & Weekender taking place on July 31 through August 2 at the Garden Grove Elks Lodge (11551 Trask Ave.). Other artists set to take part include Los Straitjackets, The Bomboras, and The Boss Martians.
Berryhill has performed at Surf Guitar 101 previously with The Tourmaliners. This year he will play at the event as a special guest with Eddie Angel’s Guitar Party on the fest’s opening night, July 31. Eddie Angel is best known as guitarist for The Straitjackets, the pair having previously teamed up on the track, “Swanky,” from The Tourmaliners 2022 album, Surfidia.
The Tourmaliners are currently hard at work on their upcoming album, El Gato, set to be released later this year on limited edition 12-inch transparent red vinyl through Pacific Records, in partnership with Colorado Instrumental Fanzine. “It looks killer,” Berryhill recently told entertainment magazine, The SceneSD. “But if you don’t have a turntable, we’ve got you covered—we’re also releasing it on CD, all the usual streaming platforms, and directly on Bandcamp,” Berryhill noted.
The Tourmaliners next single, the title track to “El Gato,” is out on July 19.
