Romero Creations, makers of high-end ukuleles and classical guitars, was founded by master luthier Pepe Romero to provide unique instruments of the highest quality, at an affordable price, aiming to offer incredible sounding and playing instruments that look great, and that people will treasure for a lifetime.
A Romero Creations Grand Tenor Koa ukulele is featured on every song of Slack Key ‘Ohana’s self-titled album “Slack Key ‘Ohana”, which debuted at #2 on the iTunes World Music Charts and won Best World Music Album at the 2022 San Diego Music Awards. The band continues to utilize their Romero Creations instruments both in studio and live performances.

ABOUT PEPE ROMERO, JR.
Pepe Romero Jr. was born into a family established in the tradition of the Spanish guitar. Regarded as royalty in the classical guitar world, Pepe’s grandfather, father and uncles have been knighted by the king of Spain for their achievements and excellence in guitar playing. Pepe’s guitars are in great demand by concert guitarists and collectors worldwide. Some fans of his instruments are Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Daniel Ho, Mike Love, and every concertizing member of his family. With Romero Creations, Pepe has applied his expertise and knowledge of the classical guitar to ukuleles. Each is hand crafted in the traditional Spanish method. He approaches them like small classical guitars and builds them to be light and powerful with a full warm tone that can fill a concert hall while played un-amplified.
ABOUT SLACK KEY ‘OHANA
Founded by Hawaiian slack key recording artist Kamaka Mullen and multi-instrumentalist Brian Witkin, Slack, Key ‘Ohana is known for blending their original island-style compositions and traditional Hawaiian melodies with beautiful surf harmonies and soothing, intricate instrumental arrangements, interweaving the music with stories of Hawaiian culture and history. Their December 2022 full length album release “Live at Tiki Oasis” debuted at #1 on the iTunes World Music Charts and is nominated in the category of “Best World Music Album” for the San Diego Music Awards 2023. Slack Key ‘Ohana has had the honor of performing at some of the largest national Tiki and Pacific Islander festivals, including Tiki Oasis (San Diego 2022), Pacific Islander Festival (PIFA, San Diego, 2020-2022), Alohana (Palm Springs 2022-23), and Tiki Caliente (Palm Springs,2023). Additional band members include Joe Witkin (Sha Na Na / Woodstock) on keyboards, Carol Witkin (The Corvettes / Legends) on ukulele and Rand Anderson (Tom Curren Band) on pedal steel, as well as hula dancers including Alyssa Godoy (Miss PIFA 2021-22).
