The Road That Use to Be

The Road That Use to Be

I’m on the road, that use to be
In the final hour, will you come to me

Had you known, what you know
Before the journey, would you still go
Would you thirst for what’s in these eyes
And still drink from the cup, of compromise

Now the beauty, deep in you
Could never go un-noticed, it’s pure and true
But every action has it’s price
Even the ones we sacrifice

In this lonely place I’ve learned to grow
You can die for yes, and still live with no
Sometimes love’s not measured by how you’ve held on
But how you let go

There is family and there are friends
A sense of obligation, that never ends
And even though I know it’s true
How could they need your love, more than I do

I don’t wanna figure out
I don’t wanna rearrange
I don’t wanna think about
Things that I can’t change
