Seth Loveless opening for Billy F Gibbons of ZZ Top

Seth Loveless will be opening for rock legend Billy F Gibbons at the San Diego Blues Festival on September 8th in San Diego. Gibbons, known as the front man for ZZ Top, will be headlining the 8th annual event.

“I feel incredibly honored to be opening for Billy Gibbons,” says Loveless. “My bass player Forest Towers and myself have been chomping at the bit for an opportunity like this.” Loveless teases a “Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed influenced take on blues and rock music”, as well as a lot of finger-picking and grinning once he takes the stage. An Arizona-based rock musician, Loveless joined the roster of San Diego-based record label Pacific Records last year and in September 2017 released his self-titled album. The album’s single, “How Do You Feel Now”, features platinum selling guitarist Eric Johnson who’s single “Cliffs of Dover” won a Grammy award for Best Rock Instrumental performance.

The San Diego Blues Festival has been a staple in the San Diego music community since it’s launch in 2011 and has featured such names as Mavis Staples, Charlie Musselwhite, James Cotton, Los Lobos, numerous members of both the Blues Hall of Fame and the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame and many others. Proceeds from the event benefit the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and more than $750,000 and 13 tons of donations have been raised since the event’s inception.
