About Split Rail Fence

Split Rail Fence is a San Diego-based roots rock band led by vocalist and primary songwriter Ron Rice. True believers in the power of “three chords and the truth,” the band delivers no-frills rock and roll with a twang, grit, and punk edge that pulls no punches.

Ron Rice has been a fixture in the San Diego music scene for over two decades. Before settling in SoCal, he honed his chops in the rock scene of Tucson, followed by a creative stretch in Nashville. Over the years, Ron has been a member of L.A.’s funk rock outfit Elridge, co-founded 66 Ohm, and launched A Month of Sundays.

On guitar, Carl Froehlich brings raw energy shaped by years in the Minneapolis music scene. After relocating to San Diego, Carl made his mark with groups like 66 OhmA Month of SundaysThe Unruly Bangs, and The Bum Deals.

Delwyn Edwards anchors the band on drums. Originally from England and raised in Tulsa, OK, Delwyn cut his teeth with local legends Headwind before moving to San Diego, where he’s played with bands including White Glove TestCakewalk, and Blindfold.

Rounding out the lineup on bass is Sppike Mike Muellenberg, known for his electrifying stage presence. Best recognized as Hairy Scary Spice of the Southern California band Spice Pistols, Sppike Mike has performed alongside legends like Peter DiStefano (Porno for Pyros) and Rikk Agnew (Adolescents). Since joining True Stories with Bart Mendoza in 2013, he’s also made an impact behind the scenes as a producer and A&R/Events Manager for Pacific Records.

With a powerhouse lineup and an unfiltered sound, Split Rail Fence delivers authentic rock and roll that’s as real as it gets—raw, unapologetic, and undeniably Southern California.
