SAN DIEGO, CA — (October 18, 2025): Pacific Records, Inc. proudly announces the signing of multi-talented artist Eric Sage and the release of his inspiring new single, “Rise Up San Diego,” the official anthem of the San Diego Gulls hockey team. The single debuts today, October 18th, coinciding with the Gulls’ Opening Night, where Sage will perform the anthem live to a packed arena audience.
“I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve officially signed with Pacific Records!” Says Sage. “The song celebrates our incredible city, its fans, and the united energy of our team. Can’t wait to share it with you all!”
Joining him at the arena will be Kela Sako, Sage’s labelmate on Pacific Records, who will deliver a stirring rendition of the National Anthem before the game.
“Rise Up San Diego” was recorded at The Music Company, the studio partner of Pacific Records located just steps from the ocean in Pacific Beach, California. The track was engineered by Jack Pawela, The Music Company’s manager and head engineer, and mixed and mastered by the award-winning Chris Hobson. The song was produced by Sage and co-produced by Pacific Records CEO Brian A. Witkin.

A seasoned performer, recording artist, and songwriter, Eric Sage has shared stages and studios with some of the world’s most iconic artists. He is perhaps best known to pop-culture fans for his appearance in “Wayne’s World”, alongside Mike Meyers and Tia Carrere where Sage plays the guitar salesman in the iconic “no Stairway to Heaven” scene. Beyond film, Sage has toured globally as a vocalist with Slash (of Guns N’ Roses) and fronted several acclaimed acts spanning pop, rock, and adult contemporary genres.
This marks Pacific Records’ second collaboration with the San Diego Gulls organization on an official anthem; the label previously partnered with Rebecca Jade for a prior team anthem that garnered attention from local sports media. Pacific has also partnered with the Gulls for over a decade helping to book and manage the pre- and post-show entertainment both in the Pechanga Arena (San Diego Sports Arena) in the arena and 330 Capacity Stella Artois Lounge.
