The Convertibles to release new EP, Subject to Change, on Pacific Records on November 7

SAN DIEGO, CA — (October 24, 2025): The Convertibles are a high-energy, punk-infused power trio known for their engaging melodies and hooks. Their work blends infectious guitar riffs and powerful lyrics, delivered with passion and verve.  When signed by Pacific Records in 2024, they released a single, “Last October,” notably passing the 10,000 stream mark.  Their new EP features the magical songwriting skills of Mike Orent (guitar and lead vocals) and Charlie Lo Presti (bass and backing vocals).

Subject to Change is the debut EP release from The Convertibles, who are based in Tarzana, California. The tunes explore the small moments that linger with you that don’t let go.  Incisive lyrics and powerful instrumentals deliver this message, while also providing a sense of calm reassurance that things will work out in the end.  The energy and enthusiasm are a reminder to go with the flow of life and not take things too seriously.

The EP was recorded at the Foo Fighters studio, Studio 606, with Lo Presti and Orent co-producing and Lo Presti at the helm with engineering and mixing.   Drawing inspiration from a variety of artists, including New Order, Public Image Ltd., and Siouxsie & the Banshees, you are sure to be moved by Lo Presti and Orent’s insightful lyrics, impressive vocals, and flawless musicianship.  Orent’s guitar mastery displays a dynamic range of memorable hooks and groovy melodies.

When discussing the EP, Lo Presti and Orent highlight a couple of tunes.  The catchy chorus from “Let’s Pretend We’re Fine” features an earworm-worthy hook that moves the listener through a spacey ’80s vibe before returning to a bigger final chorus.” The EP’s focus single, “Big Scissors” showcases “hyper melodic bass guitar over bass synths, including angular guitar and vocal work.”  Of interest, the duo used a different drum kit for each song to add some extra flavor.  This new musical approach for The Convertibles is sure to garner new fans.

The single, “Big Scissors,” has been released on October 24th, 2025. The full album, Subject to Change, drops on November 7,  2025.  The Convertibles have planned shows in the Los Angeles area, with a release show at an L.A. location on the street date, and will be touring and performing throughout summer and fall 2025 to promote the release.
